your Passion(s)

What's your passion? Movies? Music? Reading? Writing? Running? Etc? One thing I know about me, I don't have just one, in fact I get really ADD, as in, I'll start a book, then forget about it and finish it months later (disclaimer: UNLESS it's a James Patterson thriller).  I will binge a series on Netflix then not watch TV for days, I'll re-watch the same movies because it's easier then attempting a new one....and the list goes on. One other thing I know about me: since the day I saw Titanic, I knew I would never be the same.  Don't laugh.  The movie itself unleashed an obsession, infatuation, and love for not just Leonardo DiCaprio, but more seriously, ships. Sunken ships mostly, but also boats, cruise ships, oil rigs, sail boats--- you name it, if it floated, or sunk, I wanted to know about it. Before I knew it I lived, breathed, and dreamt of sunken ships.  Of seeing one in person, of the books I had bought at Barnes and Noble, and second hand book...

Currently- Edition 1

I think it would be fun to try a new approach to my blogs.  Right now my blogs are just my thoughts, randoms, and have no direction or path, but hey, it's a blog and I don't care who reads it and I post whatever the mood suits.  I do it for a fun hobby and enjoy it.  I thought it would be fun to do a weekly or monthly 'Currently' post and talk about my current favorite things/currently what I am doing/reading/watching, etc.  Categories could be, drinking, eating, listening, wearing, wanting, reading and watching.  So... here, on the date of my 31st birthday, goes nothing! Currently- Edition 1. It's fall and finally the trees seem to be SEMI changing here in Los Angeles.  Though we had nice cool (73 degrees) weather and some light rain on the weekend, the forecast says to prep for a 95 degree heat wave. Kill.Me.Now.  Lucky for me I am heading out of town for a wedding trip and leaving Los Angeles in the rear view (or airplane window) mirror. Here ...

Current Rants.

Don't have a lot to complain about often, but sometimes you just never know when something is going to creep up on you and make you go CRAZY and nearly explode and then lead to fifty thousand other things rubbing you all the wrong way and driving you absolutely BATTY.  Sometimes I feel just like I imagine my teapot feeling when it's been on the stove WHISTLING at me for far too long and soon it may explode if I don't do something about it. COMMUNICATION---- I am a girl of many words. But lately I am finding the communication with others around me is just non-existent, whether it be at my job, appointments I make, friends, friends' relationships, my boyfriend (love him but...remembering things I tell him or forgetting to tell me about important things- not his strong suit) or anywhere in between it just MAKES ME CRAZY. PHONES IN MOVIES---- TWO movies I went to last weekend (Beauty and the Beast special screening of the animated Disney classic & Bridget Jones...

Conundrum.

So here we are....September. SEPTEMBER, I'm sorry, when did that happen?  September is always a great month for me.  Summer is finally winding down (kind of...in LA it's 90 well into October---I HATE IT), kids are back in school, business at work picks back up (it's always slow in the cosmetic world in the summer), and it is almost my day of BIRTH, then Halloween! Then Thanksgiving, and Christmas! This is my favorite time of year, I cherish all FOUR, yes four, of these holidays but I always am shocked when September hits because I wonder what in the world I did for the past year. It flies. It flew. Before you know it it'll be 2017.  I will be turning 31 in October. Not too worried about it, not having any end of life epiphanies or agonizing thoughts that I am getting old.  Lucky for me I work in the cosmetic world, preventing the site of age is easily attainable for me. But my inside and my mind, that's all up to me.  I don't think of my birthday as that big o...

ESFJ

So this weekend was a lot of news for me.  Hung with new people, saw new places, hell I even ate new kinds of foods that I don't generally eat, but I loved it.  I loved the new, I loved the people, and it was a great distraction from the conundrums of life, whether it be a disagreement with a  friend that is a constant cloud cover to stresses of every day life, to job stress, to LIFE, it was nice to "get away" from it all.  Something else I did though was take a Myers Briggs personality test- something I have not done since I was in college which I think is something every one SHOULD take in college, and then again once they have had some life experience for example, turning 30. In short ESFJ is Extrovert, and my score for that was 60%, Sensing, 75%, Feeling, 85% and Judging was 70%.  In long I am a people person, I have a strong desire to be liked, I am dependable, I have a strong focus on the details of life, I need approval from others to feel good about my...

Why(s)

Why.... Things that run through my head on the daily because, life.  Why do we let ourselves as humans get caught up in silly, mundane, stressful, and hurtful situations? Here are some of my whys... Do I watch "just one more" episode on Netflix when I know I will want to kill myself in the morning? Does your opinion matter so much? Do I second guess myself? Do I HATE working out but afterward feel so good, then quickly forget that feeling because the next day, I HATE working out again? Do I continuously put up with people in my life who exhaust me, make me second guess myself and my decisions? Do I procrastinate with all major decisions but 'fun' decisions I take two seconds to make? Do I care so much? Do I sometimes feel that it's not enough? Can't I stop, breathe, and realize I have it pretty damn good? Do I dwell on things that only hurt me in remembering them? Can't I just realize that I AM THE ONLY ONE that can make me ha...

First (of many) Vacation

So... you get to that point in your relationship where you decide it would be fun to take a trip.  My boyfriend and I had already done quick overnight stays at places and hotels but they were for family functions, not r & r.  So I was excited when he suggested we do something the first weekend he was back from a 3 month work trip. I let him do all the planning of where and what, but I of course took over the planning of the to-go places at our destination, because that's who I am and that's how we work.  Some things I learned, and things we did that made it an amazing and perfect trip-- Found a blog that had 100 questions to ask your significant other on a road trip---cheesy? Maybe. Amazing time passer? Absolutely.  We talk all the time and know a lot about each other, but the questions this particular blog asked were really fun and not only made us come up with answers but the answers led to childhood memories to share with each other, dreams, insi...
